Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't written in a while, life has kept me busy!
quick update: 27 pounds, gone. 10k, done. Pizza extravaganza, check. House painted, eh kinda. Foster dog in fur-ever home, check. New stupid goals, yep. New recipes, deliciously done.... I think that covers almost everything!
Sunday we (me, Heather, Krisha, and Stacey) ran our first race together. If you are wondering, Stacey is Heathers best friend from forever and Krisha is one of my friends from work. They have been recruited to do dumb stuff with us. Ok where was I? Umm, oh right! This was the first of many many many more to come, it was a 10k to warm us up for the upcoming stupidity we have planned. It was hot and humid outside when the race started and it only got worse. I was crampy and tired and I didn't do as well as I wanted. This could be for many reasons...A: Copious amounts of beer consumed 2 nights before B: I didn't pace myself and ran way too fast to start C: I didn't drink my gallon of water the day before D: I have only run on a treadmill for the last 3 weeks. I am not sure if I am being too hard on myself or I am finding too many excuses. I did finish in under an hour which was the goal I set for myself (Scott bribed me with pizza). I think I can really take some more time off my miles and I am hoping that by April I can keep a consistent 7-8 minute mile for at least 10 miles. April is when the spartan race is in Vegas and I hope to run for time and stay somewhat ahead of the pack. My brother has agreed to run it with the group and race me for time, loser buys dinner and drinks.
We are starting to creep up on some of the scarier races, we are less than 2 months away from the first 1/2 marathon, 4 months from the disney 1/2 marathon, 5 months away from Mudder, 7 months away from spartan, and 9 months away from..... The full F'ing marathon in San Diego. I am terrifed.
I will post some new recipes hopefully tomorrow and a few new workouts. Thanks again for checking in :)
